Which phone stand will keep your logo in daily use?
It comes down to where the item will be used, the recipient's phone and the room your logo needs.
Start with how it will be used
In a U.S. and Canadian survey by PPAI, an industry association, usefulness was clearly the main reason people keep a promotional product [1]; ASI, another association, found the same in the U.S. in 2026 [2]. One distributor notes that folding stands ship flat, while a bulkier desk stand is best given in person [3]; on a desk, it stays in view. A grip goes wherever the phone goes.
Wireless charging and the back of the phone
Apple recommends placing nothing between the iPhone and the charger [4]; Samsung advises removing holders attached to the device before wireless charging [5]. A grip or ring may therefore have to come off whenever the phone charges. If you don't know your audience's phones, a freestanding stand sidesteps the issue; otherwise, add a short card.
Adhesive or magnetic?
According to one grip manufacturer, its adhesive holds on most hard, flat surfaces, but not on matte silicone, frosted glass, leather or soft materials [6]; for any other adhesive, this is to be confirmed. A magnetic mount requires a compatible magnetic phone or case, and Apple warns that such accessories might reduce charging performance [4]: compatibility is to be confirmed.
Keeping a logo readable on a small surface
According to a distributor, many stands offer only a small pad printing area, so a long horizontal wordmark may call for a stacked version or the symbol on its own [3]. Writing about pad printing in general, a distributor that also offers decorating notes that very fine text should be checked at actual size, that each colour requires its own setup, which favours larger runs of the same design, and that UV printing is worth comparing for a photo or a gradient [7]. A compact version in solid colours is therefore often safer.
Remote work: aim for eye level
A guideline from the Japan Human Factors and Ergonomics Society recommends that people working from home use a stand to raise the screen to eye level or slightly below, because looking down at a phone puts more strain on the neck and shoulders [8]. A stand that lifts the screen, ideally with height you can adjust, is often a better pick than a small one sitting flat; for a tablet, stability is to be confirmed.
Material and target audience
According to one distributor, the method (pad printing, full-colour printing or laser engraving) varies by item; on some materials, engraving comes out tone on tone rather than in colour [3]. Method and finish are to be confirmed, especially on wood or metal. Another distributor claims, without supporting data, that stands often come across as more upscale than basic items [9]. For a family audience, Health Canada warns that swallowing small, powerful magnets can cause serious injuries, especially under age 10 [10]: choose a stand with no small accessible magnets and ask for a declaration of conformity.
Écran Blanc's advice
For a wide distribution, start with a desk or folding stand, which leaves the case and charging alone. Keep grips for younger or on-the-go audiences, with a short application note, stands you can adjust for remote workers, and wood or metal for targeted client gifts.
